Description :

Instructor support & development - 40%

  • Plan and facilitate instructor onboarding for new tech instructors, ensuring that instructors are well prepared and supported to teach their classes. Build instructors’ skills and capacity to deliver engaging, rigorous classes, and to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support new instructors by co-facilitating sessions where necessary
  • Regularly observe learner performance and instruction in class. Thought-partner with instructors and facilitate reflective conversations on how best serve all learners, including those with additional needs, and to achieve high learning outcomes from all.
  • Build a community of practice for instructors, providing opportunities for collaboration, learning and sharing of best practices
  • Support instructors to create cover plans in case of absence, including covering classes where required.

Programme management - 40%

  • Manage a portfolio of cohorts, liaising with instructors, mentors, programme managers, regional leads and CMI team colleagues, to ensure we meet our targets for course completion, learning outcomes and job readiness.
    1. Review each cohort’s data weekly and use this to shape intervention and support plans for learners in each cohort
    2. Lead problem-solving meetings with instructor and mentor for each cohort, creating action-plans where required to support learners, and to uphold our on-programme KPIs (course completion, learner satisfaction, learning outcomes)
  • Serve as the point of escalation for learner issues on-programme (e.g., attendance, punctuality, engagement, assessment/learning outcomes, professionalism), and work with instructor and mentor to problem-solve these learner issues.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the organisation (e.g. Outreach Managers, Employer Partnerships Managers) to ensure the smooth running of each programme.

Learning Initiatives - 20%

  • Lead 1-2 initiatives each quarter that improve the quality of teaching and learning in our classrooms. These will be discussed and agreed with your manager each time, and will align with overall team strategic priorities and your own preferences. For e.g.
    1. Create new training resources that enable more effective instructor onboarding
    2. Gather and analyse feedback from learners and graduates to inform curriculum revisions
Requirements :
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude, drive for excellence and ability to be a team player
  • Specialist technical knowledge in one of the key course areas: Cloud, data or software engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience coaching or facilitating professional development for teachers
  • At least 2 years of management experience (for e.g. as a Second in Charge for a Department or year group)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; has the ability to build and grow relationships with a range of different stakeholders, including: employers, instructors, mentors and learners on our programmes
  • 4+ years of experience working in a teaching or training role
  • Knowledge of current trends in adult learning
